Mill Creek, Ga. 79, Thompson 64
The Thompson Warriors (8-6) hung with the second-ranked Class 5A team in Georgia for a half, but then Mill Creek senior guard Porsha Porter took over. Porter scored eight points to spark a 12-0 run at the start of the third quarter as the Lady Hawks broke away from a 34-34 halftime tie and went on to defeat the Warriors. Porter finished with 28 points, seven assists, seven steals and five rebounds. Six-foot sophomore center Moneshia Simmons added 18 points, eight rebounds and seven steals Rhonda Watts scored 20 points and Zoriah Williams had 19 points to lead Thompson (8-6). Renita Lewis chipped in with 12.
